A “share”-panel below each post or page enables forwarding of its contents to various social networks (facebook, twitter and over 300 others) as well as sending it by email or printing it out. Now, it has become easier to spread a word about knits4kids to the world yet unaware of its existence!

Feb 20, 2011 – Gallery View for Visual Search

Sub-menu “Gallery View” in “Collection” is a new cool feature for purely visual search in the entire collection. You can simply choose a category of interest and get all images from all printed editions in the Bookshelf. Enlarged view of an image also reveals the link to the respective pattern.

Feb 10, 2011 – New plugin for user galleries

Photosmash Plugin used for enabling the uploading the images of users’ finished items into the pattern’s gallery was replaced by NextGen Gallery plugin. The reason: the developer of Photosmash announced the plugin to be discontinued. With the NextGen Gallery, the uploaded images do not appear in the gallery right away, but are rather queued for moderation. Also, there is no support for uploading by URL.

Jan 28, 2011 – Complete Re-installation

Due to drastically decreased performance the whole system had to be reinstalled and repaired. As a result, the response time has improved considerably. There is still a delay of 1-2 seconds caused by plugins not yet translated.

Jan 6, 2011 – New Look of the Blog

The look of the site was made more fancy by adding a frame with colorful flowers and replacing the blog name’s text with a logo image.

Jan 4, 2011 – New Mode for Blog’s Membership

From now on the blog is not completely blocked for unregistered visitors. These can access all pages except Patterns and Bookshelf in all languages. Besides, the registration procedure itself has been made more complete to enable a more detailed user profile.
