Language Setting

This site is localized into 6 languages with English as the default one. You can change your preferred language in “My Profile” (this option is displayed on the right panel if you are logged in). There you can select the language from the “Select your language:” list and confirm it by pressing the “Update Profile” button on the bottom. From now on, even the comments you view will be shown with automatic (machine) translation into your language. This way, you can follow discussions and even communicate to other user without knowing their language.

How to register?

Fill in the registration form found in the top menu Welcome -> Members Area. The password will be emailed to you, therefore, make sure to provide a valid email address!

Reset forgotten password

In the top menu Welcome -> Members Area there is an option Forgot password?  Click here to reset
If you forgot the username as well or fail to reseet the password using the above option, contact us for further assistance via the contact form. There is no need to re-register!

Problems with registration

If the registration was sussessful but you have not received the login data per email, check the spam folder: aumatically generated messages often get blocked by spam filters. If the message is not there, you might have specified wrong email address. To avoid repeated registration, just contact us for further assistance via the contact form.

Subscribe to new entries/comments

Learn about all available subscription options in the top menu Options -> Subscribe. Subscribe and stay notified!

May I copy your contents to other sites?

We encourage cross-referencing and citing! Copying is ok, too, but copy with care. Different countries have different copyright regulations and Knits4Kids has users from all over the world. Especially, avoid publishing the contents of member-only entries to open-access sites as it may get you and others in trouble. The best and most secure way to share is the Bookmark & Share panel on the bottom of each page allowing you to send that entry’s summary or link to over 330 social networks or by email.

Is it possible to download the whole book / magazin from the library?

Not unless you are a premium user. Of course, you can save any single page. If you search for download links, ask Google by typing “Title download\” where Title is the title of the resource you are looking for. You can find almost anything this way!

How do I save a page or another image to my computer

Klick on the thumbnail to enlarge the view, right-klick on the image to get the popup menu and choose the option “Save image as”.

    hello svetlana,i just found out that i am saving some of these patterns but won’t be able to open them as i sent them to myself via email to take all of the unnecessary print off of them.  now, i’ve discovered that i won’t be able to click on any of the specific patterns to open them. can you give me some advice as to how you would save them to open later on.

      About saving patterns. First of all, you can add whatever you like to your treasure trove if you can’t print or save it right away. You can return to your treasure trove at any moment and find the bookmarked stuff. If you want to store any files on your computer or send them by email, you can do it. If those patterns are linked files, you need to download those files or save at least the links. If those are images, you need to click on the image to enlarge the view, then right-click on it to get the menu. There you can choose “save image as”, “copy image”, “send image”, etc. (menu option vary in different browsers). Remember to enlarge the view, otherwise you will only get thumbnails.

    I find your site very “user unfriendly”.   I found it impossible to just check out patterns by category, or get the pattern.  What am I doing wrong?

      Dear Fran. You did nothing wrong. It is just that the image viewer software I used changed the licensing conditions and became incompatible just today when I was at work and could not take care of it. I spend hours trying to find a solution. It seems like I have found one but I need to test all parts of the blog to make sure that they work properly. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you click on any image now, it should display the link to the pattern below. I will try to recover the user-friendliness by tomorrow.

    HI!I’M SORRY TO BE SUCH A BIG PEST BUT I JUST CANNOT FIND ANYWHERE THAT TELLS ME HOW TO GET RID OF THE “MY TREASURE TROVE” AS I’VE CLICKED ON “REMOVE” BUT THEY ARE STILL THERE WITH MORE ADDED TO THE REMAINDER ON THE LIBARY LIST THAT SHOW I’VE SAVED THEM BUT I DIDN’T THINK THAT I DID! I DESPERATELY WOULD LIKE TO CANCEL ALL OF THESE TREASURE TROVES.

      There have been some technical difficulties after transferring the site to a new server. I am glad you let me know about the error, I was not aware of it. Now the delete links in the treasure trove are working. You can delete whatever you do not wish to be there. Actually, I am working hard on developing the portal and adding new features to it and hope for your tolerance and understanding. I prefer not to take the whole portal offline for hours as it is being used by thousands of people from all over the world.
