Congratulations! You have discovered a treasure. Knits4Kids is a meeting point for knitters and crocheters from all over the world. Here you can find a huge collection of patterns for kids and for the whole family and for all occasions. All patterns are FREE and originate from various popular hobby portals located in different countries.

Knits4Kids is unique in many respects: it is international and multilingual, it is free and well organized. You can search by languages, categories, colors, yarn types, origin, craft, etc., using keywords or by browsing though image galleries. Besides, you can view thousands of books and magazines from all over the world in the online library. To learn more, scroll down and continue reading (recommended for new users). Multilingual Support

Our blog is available in the following languages: English, German, Russian, French, Italian, and Spanish, with English being the default language. Each of the supported languages has its own collection of patterns. To check the contents in another language, simply navigate to the category or tag of interest and then use the language switcher.

The pattern database itself contains instructions in other languages (e.g., Japanese, Polish, Dutch) besides the ones mentioned above. Those patterns are indexed in the English part of the database. Use the filter in the sidebar to find patterns in a specific language.

Structure and order

The entire content is strictly organized to improve searching and browsing. Each post corresponds to a single pattern or a set of related patterns. A hierarchy of categories is used to classify each pattern. Tagging helps to describe important characteristics of the pattern. Other searchable characteristics are color, yarn type, difficulty, craft, and sex. The blog is moderated to ensure that the database remains clean and ordered.

Image Gallery

There is a gallery of patterns sorted by language and category. Use this option for fast visual search or just to get inspired.

Users are encouraged to rate patterns and to use the “Thank you” counter for marking those patterns they actually download. This way, all users can see the most favored and popular patterns.

Networking and Support

Controlled contribution

By default, the users are subscribers, i.e., can only send comments. However, you can request your role to be upgraded to a contributor, translator or moderator. Then, you will be able to create your own posts (it is very easy and fun and does not require any specific skills). Use the contact form to send such requests to the blog’s administrator.

Stay notified about all new arrivals by email. Get clickable previews of all new patterns and collections in a single message once a day. Use the subscription link at the top of the right panel.
